In the mean time, I thought it would be beneficial to post a blog entry on how I use Hyper-V Server in Windows Server 2008 R2 for my crash and burn lab at home. Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 is RTM
In case you haven’t heard, SP 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 has been released to manufacturing. General availability (through Windows Update and direct download) is February 22nd. However, Volume Licensed, MSDN and TechNet subscribers get access to the Service Pack on February 16th.

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 End of Life is Fast Approaching
Support for Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 ends on April 14th, 2009 (less than one month from now).
This means there will be no support for computers that do not have Service Pack 2 installed, and Microsoft will not distribute any hotfixes or security updates for computers that have Service Pack 1 installed.
