Ah...uhhh..

There is that gotcha I was looking for...I was wondering why the ADAC wasn't able to find any DC from my prod domain i.e 2003..darn it..I can't just put up an 08 DC in my prod domain..I would have to do that in my QA environment where the testing of these cool features can be possible but I really wouldn't be able to take advantage of extended administration in my prod domain.

Thanks,

Hi John,

Thanks for the review :)

Two small features that people have been wondering about:

The blue Pushpin in the upper right hand corner of the Column Explorer shown in screenshot 3 docks the Column Explorer on top of the window.

Also, the chevron in the white circle left of "modified" in the property page, lower left corner on the last screenshot, provides information about the object that may be relevant in a troubleshooting situation.

Thanks

Hi Allan,

You are correct...if you want to use the Active Directory Administrative Center, you require at least one Windows Server 2008 R2 domain controller in your domain.

I wanted to make a small note. If you install the RSAT tools on Windows 7, you have the ADAC also. My current production domain does not have a 2008 DC (waiting on Exchange upgrade) and because of that, ADAC cannot find a domain controller for the domain. So make sure you are up todate when trying to use the tool

I hope am right with this.. according to my testing :)
