Revision history: This was initially posted roughly one year ago and it is still the most viewed post on my blog. I leveraged the content in this post to author an article for TechNet Magazine’s September 2009 issue (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2009.09.sdadminholder.aspx). Joe Richards took the time to review my TechNet Magazine article, and pointed out some mistakes I had made in it. This an updated version of my blog post, which has the mistakes corrected, and contains new content specific to Windows Server 2008 R2. The online version of the TechNet Magazine article will be fixed soon.
